We had a FABULOUS day at the Bridal Fair!

My fabulous sister was on hand to help me with paperwork, greeting brides, answering tons of questions and scoring cupcakes from other vendors ;)

I generally run an irresistable Bridal Fair special and this year was no exception! Since not every bride was prepared to book AT the show (or couldn't get in touch with their sweetheart to get the checkbook) I've decided to extend the special through Sunday January 29th!

So for anyone who missed it, and might be visiting the site for the first time, here ya go!

BELOVED wedding ceremony

The church we attend here in Lubbock, Faith Christian Family Church, is throwing not just one wedding, but essentially SIX!! Here's the scoop from FCFC:

Because we believe that God’s best is for families to live together under the covenant of marriage, we want to offer a free wedding ceremony and celebration for FCFC couples who want to take the next step and make the marriage commitment.

Well that couldn't be more right up my alley! The ceremonies are taking place this Friday, February 11th @ 7 pm. Each couple will be married by Pastor Stormy Swann with a reception to follow at the church. There have been donations not only of photography (by yours truly!), but of flowers from United MarketStreet, twinkle lights from the Lighting Products Group, and hours of preparation, decoration and personal work from many at the church.

We had a small "engagement shoot" for the couples (ranging in age from 22-62) and collages of their images will be framed on entry tables for guests to sign the mats. What a fabulous and exciting night this is gearing up to be, can't wait to post final images of the happy couples!

Although I have a background in the culinary arts, photography is the sweetest passion I have! I love classic, traditional recipes with a twist and try to bring this same creativity to my photo shoots.

I want all of your photos to be timeless and telling; of the moment, the relationship, the emotion...

I've been fortunate to work with brides and families from Austin to New York, from Japanese, Indian and hippie cermonies to good ole' West Texas barn dances, and loved every minute of it!

I'm a full-time, home-schooling, farmer's-market-shopping, picture-taking mama living in Austin, TX with a fantastic husband and 2 amazing little girls (Camilla 7 & Violet 3).

As she mentioned, Amanda and I have been best friends since we first met in the 6th grade and I'm thrilled to be able to continue "building" Red Frame Photography with her. She probably won't mention the giant red glasses she wore until we were 14, but I'm convinced it's the inspiration

A wedding on the 4th of July? Bryan & Sue decided on the date because their dating anniversary falls on the 4th of each month according to Bryan, and the only 4th during the summer happened to fall on the holiday. Why not?! We "toured" Amarillo for this one, stopping at the Cadillac Ranch where Bryan proposed, stopped at their favorite pub where Sue flagged down a vintage Mercury, then headed down the street to a biker bar for some shots on a bike! As she said, "Who can say no to the girl in the wedding dress?!"

As some of you know, we've recently relocated back to Lubbock, TX from Tulsa. It's been fabulous so far and I've already met so many wonderful friends and clients. I've missed the flat, rustic landscape of my home and although I love trees and real hills and I'll miss the gorgeous Tulsa fall, I know we're right where we're supposed to be now! One of the most interesting and fun places I've shot so far is the National Ranching Heritage Center. Joseph just turned 2 and had a blast running between the buildings and corrals during our shoot. There is just something about getting your hair and makeup done, having your best friends and mother fawn all over you, and getting to wear that incredible dress more than once that really makes it worth it. Taking the extra time that you can't quite squeeze out of the wedding day always leads to the some of the most glamorous shots you'll ever have!

I've been spending quite a bit of time at Natural Lullabies as their photographer and had the privelage of photographing the owner, Melissa, for her yoga studio. They offer prenatal, mommy-and-me, moms only & diaper yoga (for kids under 2) as well as a ton of other classes for mommies and daddies-to-be. I thought the following pictures were lovely and look forward to shooting more before her little bundle arrives!

These two sweethearts managed to attend law school together, almost meet online, even take a course together, without realizing they were meant to be until several years later! They have a fabulous story with so many near misses, it's like a romantic comedy. We had a fabulous time on the campus in Norman shooting engagement pictures. These two like to snuggle and they love their "puppies"!

Valentine's day is fast approaching ~ puzzled about what to get the man who has everything (namely you?) May I suggest just that : YOU!

The most fabulous, romantic and *surprising* thing I ever presented my sweetie with was a book of photos featuring just me! He lovedd them and couldn't believe I had thought of it, much less done it!

I will also be shooting video at my upcoming weddings in order to present that as an addition as well. So many of my brides have had to choose between photography and video due to budgeting reasons. I know from personal experience that while our wedding video is great and it was neat to see all the little ins and outs of the day, what we usually watch when we break it out, is the video montage.
